Three former partners of Manuel Baret, known as Vakero, who is accused of domestic violence, went to the National District Public Prosecution office yesterday, Tuesday 15 January to defend the rap singer against accusations of abuse made by his current wife, Martha Heredia, former winner of Latin American Idol.
Clara Peguero, Carmen Florentino and Simona Martinez, who is Italian, said that Vakero was not a violent man and that they did not believe her accusations.
The singer was with Clara for 12 years and they have two children together, he has a four-year old child with Florentino and a three-year old with Simona. The latter said her house was always open to Martha Heredia and that on one occasion Martha had seen Simona having an argument with Vakero and she then decided it was her opportunity to take him for herself.
Simona said that Martha Heredia could never handle the fact that she and Vakero stayed close and kept in touch about their son. Clara said that Heredia’s complaint against Vakero could be a case of professional jealousy as she also is a singer.
Vakero is still in jail.
