Tour operators from the Americas and Europe will meet in Bavaro between 23 and 25 April this year for the Annual Dominican Tourism Exchange (DATE) conference organized by the Hotels and Tourism Association (Asonahores) with sponsorship from the Ministry of Tourism.
During the conference, which takes place annually, the tour operators will be able to meet with main industry suppliers such as hotels, travel agencies and car rental agencies.
Diario Libre comments that tourism is the major source of income for the Dominican Republic with the latest figures from the Central Bank showing that between January and November 2012, there were 4.559.109 arrivals into the country, resident and non-resident, which was an increase of 6.2% over the previous year.
