The possible nine-game playoffs between the Leones del Escogido and Aguilas del Cibao begin tonight, Friday 18 January. Sports analysts say either team could win. In the round robin leading into the finals, the Leones defeated the Aguilas 3-2. Fans will be able to enjoy plays by Manny Ramirez and Miguel Tejada. Other key players are Hector Luna, Joaquin Arias, Elian Herrera and Leury Garcia.
The Leones have Major League players Fernando Rodney, Francisco Cordero, Octavio Dotel and Johnny Nunez. The finals that open tonight will run for five straight days, a day off and then another possible four days.
