The Minister of Public Administration Ramon Ventura Camejo has revealed that the government has over 400,000 employees on its payroll and nearly 40% are currently in what could be called Civil Service, which means they are permanent employees of the government, and not subject to electoral results. Ventura Camejo was speaking at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD). During his talk, the official said that 1,183 people had recently entered the administrative service and he called upon these new employees to work hard so that the country can have quality public services. These new permanent employees of the state had to undergo rigorous training sessions as well as an evaluation process that included tests on technical, ethical and disciplinary levels.
