Santo Domingo Carnival parades

The Ministry of Culture, the City Government of the National District and the Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster have announced a very busy schedule for carnival in the city. This year there will be a children’s carnival parade and the first ever Colonial City Carnival parade is scheduled for 10 February. Mirtha Olivares is in charge of the event for the Ministry of Culture. There will be two major parades for carnival, one on Saturday, 2 March on the Malecon, and a final on Sunday, 3 March with participants coming from all over the country, with the location yet to be announced. The Ministry says that carnival parades will be taking place in different areas of the city every Sunday in February.
