The Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel) says that at the end of December 2012 there were 1,922,225 Internet accounts in the country. The stats from Indotel show that there are 8,847,062 cell phone lines in use. Of this total, 7,274,163 use pre-paid calling cards and 1,572,899 monthly billing plans.
