President Danilo Medina is scheduled to travel to Chile tomorrow, Saturday 26 January to take part in the EU-LAC Business Summit and the EU-LAC Summit of heads of state and heads of government in Santiago, as reported in El Dia. Medina is scheduled to address more than 60 world leaders during a seven-minute talk on Sunday. The session will focus on the deficit in wealth distribution, access to jobs and education and reduction of violence in the region.
Presidential media spokesman Roberto Rodriguez Marchena said that Medina would describe how the new government is focusing on developing the internal market, increasing Dominican people’s income and strengthening access to basic rights like education, health and transport.
The summits are held every two years and bring together business leaders, individuals and business institutions from Latin America, the Caribbean and the European Union. Leaders from 61 countries are expected to attend the event.
