The president of the Sur Futuro Foundation, Melba Segura de Grullon, reported yesterday, Monday 28 January that the foundation will proceed with the “Sur Solar” project that involves promoting the installation of solar systems in homes, schools and small businesses in the south of the country. The foundation is also going to introduce solar powered cooking equipment in the country’s poorest region. According to Hoy, Segura has signed an agreement with the National Climate Change Council and the Clean Development Mechanism by which both institutions are committed to working together to educate diverse sectors of the population about everything related to climate change.
