Vice President Margarita Cedeno de Fernandez used the Twitter social network to explain why she was not at San Isidro Air Force base to welcome President Danilo Medina on his return from Chile on Monday night, 28 January, after attending the Summit for the European Union and the Community of American States and the Caribbean (UE/CELAC).
Apparently, when Medina landed, Cedeno was still in the Presidential Palace as there was some confusion about his arrival time.
Her Twitter message was sent from @margaritacdf, “Welcome home to your country, President Danilo Medina, sorry I am not there to meet you but they told me that you were arriving at 11.30pm.”
She went on to say that she was in the Presidential Palace for the official handover.
