It’s refreshing and welcome. President Danilo Medina has marked a difference from his predecessor in his punctuality. Fernandez was known for regularly arriving one to three hours after the announced time, but Medina has been showing up earlier than the announced time.
Diario Libre reports that many people still have not become accustomed to Medina’s punctuality. In a back page editorial, the newspaper comments that now, while we are not Swiss, events in the DR are running on English time.
