A 4.1 tremor affected the northern part of the island yesterday afternoon, as reported by the Seismological Laboratory at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD). The lab reported that at 6:33 the earth shook in the area of Puerto Plata, Santiago and the surrounding areas. The quake was located at 19.8 North and 71.1 West. No damage was reported either in Puerto Plata or Santiago.
