Police arrest four in murder of 1st Lieutenant

The National Police has announced the arrest of four suspects in the murder of First Lieutenant Joan Franco Jimenez outside of his house in Herrera in Santo Domingo West in order to steal his sidearm. The four, aged from 18 to 24, are also accused of shooting a minor, Arvelis Salvador Pena, reportedly over a grudge. Nicknamed “Chupa”, “Gris”, “El Pato” and “Tata,” El Nuevo Diario says that the four were caught in possession of a Taurus 9mm automatic that ballistics tests matched to the shell casings found at the murder scene. The Police are still looking for another suspect nicknamed “Pablon”, who is allegedly in possession of the Glock 9mm taken from the murdered lieutenant.
