A frontal system over the north of our island and the humidity generated by the prevailing winds from the northeast will cause rain showers throughout the day, today Monday 11 February and into the early hours tomorrow, Tuesday 12 February according to the National Meteorological Office (ONAMET). Rains are forecast for the northwest, north, southeast, along the Cibao Valley and the border regions. Temperatures are expected to be pleasant during the early hours of the day and evening.
However, because of the location of this low-pressure trough, the forecasters are also warning of abnormal wave action along the north coast, and have issued a small craft warning for the coastline. Small boats are warned not to go out to sea and to stay close to shore.
