The poet Jose Marmol has received the National Literature prize for 2013, awarded by the Corripio Foundation and the Ministry of Culture. He was honored for his contributions to poetry and the high quality of his prose. The ceremony took place yesterday evening, Tuesday 12 February in the Carlos Piantini room at the National Theater in Santo Domingo, attended by people from the worlds of culture, art and finance. Also present were the president of the Corripio Foundation, Jose Luis Corripio Estrada, and the Minister of Culture, Jose Antonio Rodriguez.
Marmol received a commemorative scroll and RD$1 million.
