According to a Twitter post from teachers’ representative Maria Teresa Cabrera, teachers across the country will dress in green today, Wednesday 13 February, as part of their campaign for a salary increase. If there is still no response from the authorities, says Cabrera, they will hold public demonstrations across the country on Friday, 15 February.
The teachers are asking for a 100% salary increase, but the Ministry of Education is only offering 15%. The salaries commission is meeting with the Dominican Teachers Association (ADP) again today, Wednesday 13 February.
