Supreme Court Judge Esther Agelan Casasnovas has ruled that the corruption case against Senator Felix Bautista should be permanently archived, as suggested by the director of the National Department of Administrative Corruption (DPCA), after a detailed investigation found that the Senator never gave money to the president of Haiti, Michel Martelly.
The judge rejected the objections raised by the Movement against Corruption against permanently archiving the casefile.
Agelan Casasnovas said that she had based her ruling on the investigation carried out by the DPCA, which she said had established that the documented proof as described by reporter Nuria Piera did not show that Bautista’s accounts had made transfers to Martelly, either directly or indirectly.
