At a meeting to discuss teachers’ salaries yesterday Wednesday 13 February, the Ministry of Education rejected the 100% increase requested by the Dominican Teachers’ Association (ADP) and stuck to its offer not to increase salaries by more than 15%.
The ADP immediately arranged for a meeting of its National Executive Committee to decide what to do before rejecting the offer. At present, teachers earn RD$8,972 per shift per month.
