Outstanding Dominican painter Domingo Liz, winner of the National Visual Art Award in 2012 passed away yesterday, Thursday 14 February. He was a chronic bronchitis sufferer. Minister of Culture Jose Antonio Rodriguez lauded his immense legacy to visual arts in the country for his creation of seminal images that highlight the national cultural identity. Born in Santo Domingo in 1931, he studied visual arts at the National School of Bellas Artes and architecture at the UASD. He was also well known for his sculptures and drawings.
