Olgo Fernandez, the embattled director of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDRHI) is being accused of using state equipment for his own benefit. Hoy newspaper says that he is also accused of nepotism and a lack of transparency and the use of public funds for personal business. According to the program “The Report”(El Informe), his appointments between September and November 2012, shortly after he was confirmed as director of Indrhi, include relatives and his wife Sonia Aguero Morales. The program revealed that the legal advisor to the Institute, Angeles Custodio Sosa Morales, a brother-in-law of the director, earns RD$54,000 a month and Patria Munoz Rodriguez, his sister, is listed as a supervisor with a salary of RD$10,000.
