The Ministry for Youth has announced that it has signed a cooperation agreement with the Dominican Call Center Cluster and the National Cultural and Development Foundation, with a view to creating more than 6,000 jobs this year.
Minister Jorge Minaya said that the objective is to meet the growing demand of the Call Center industry and it will be an opportunity for young people to specialize in languages and culture and increase their potential for personal and professional development. The Ministry will provide scholarships for the students and the Call Center Cluster will supervise the oral examinations, and coordinate periodic visits to Call Centers.
Once they have completed these courses they will be able to go directly into work with the 112 Call Centers operating in the country.
The agreement was signed by Minaya, Erik Perez, president of the Dominican Call Center Cluster and Ray Gonzalez, from the National Cultural and Development Foundation. Applications for the scholarships are available at the Youth Ministry and on its web page www.juventud.gob.do
