Citi has signed a partnership agreement with mobile payment administrator GCS Systems to launch a mobile payment service called ‘Citi Mobile Collect’. The service targets small grocery stores and other businesses in the Dominican Republic.
In cooperation with microfinance institution Banco ADOPEM, Citi Mobile Collect enables small businesses that are not yet part of the banking system to open an account and make business transactions. The system makes mobile phones the main tool for traders to complete financial transactions with their providers that are Citi corporate clients.
