Leading search engine Google dedicated its “doodle” yesterday, 27 February to the Independence of the Dominican Republic, commemorating the 169th Anniversary of that event. It was only visible to Google users in the country.
The doodle was in the colors of the National Flag, blue on the top, red at the bottom and white in the middle.
On 27 February 1844 the Dominicans ended 22 years of Haitian occupation.
