Borrowing from Korea

The Medina administration has sent a loan for US$25 million from the Korean Export & Import Bank (Kexim Bank) to Congress to finance an immigration information system. Medina encouraged the loan contract to be passed on the grounds that the system would serve to strengthen border controls with Haiti. Senate president Reinaldo Pared Perez said the request for financing was sent to the Hacienda commission for review.
