National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso has told El Dia that state prosecutors are working to complete the paperwork for the Bahia de las Aguilas title forgery case. She admitted that key papers had gone missing since 2003 but that the case is being rebuilt. She said that around 20 people linked to the case are fugitives, and around a dozen of others were removed from the case because they had returned the forged property titles and are now are among the ownership claimants. She said that these people would be arrested as the case reopens after public opinion rejected a Medina government deal to negotiate with the owners of the proven forged titles to thousands of plots in protected national park areas.
