The Dominican Republic stand at ITB 2013 (6-10 March 2013) tourism trade show held in Berlin was selected as the third best stand in the Americas. Every year the Cologne Business School and ITB Berlin award the best of the best exhibitors. The DR won the third best among 12,000 exhibitors for criteria including information content, interactivity, interesting effects and service quality. The award ceremony took place on 9 March in the Palais at the Funkturm on the Berlin trade fair premises. The best three of each category took the stage to receive the prestigious award. In the Americas & the Caribbean category the winners were Peru, Panama and the Dominican Republic.
In the Fitur trade show held in Madrid earlier this year, the Dominican Republic stand won Best Show Award.
