The National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) reported that earlier today, Tuesday, 2 April it confiscated 198 packages of cocaine that were due to be shipped through the Caucedo Multimodal Port camouflaged as cacao.
The cocaine was hidden in six packages in a 40-foot freight container being sent to Italy, according to the DNCD report. The shipment was made by Conacado, the large cacao cooperative. The ship had arrived from Puerto Moin in Costa Rica and was due to travel on to Pont-a-Pitre in Guadeloupe before continuing to its final destination in Italy. The 198 packages were confiscated by prosecutor Martin Peguero Polanco.
