Potential mining all over the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is a coveted destination among international mining companies. As reported in El Caribe, on average there are 95.6 applications exploration/exploitation licenses for every 1,000 square km of national territory. The Department of Mining is processing 290 requests for mining exploration.

As reported in El Caribe, three exploration and exploitation concessions that have been issued for petrol are still current.

Of the concessions, 128 are for mining, covering an area of 170,685 hectares. There are 61 requests for non-metallic exploitation in process.

The Presidency reports today on the meeting of chief executives of US mining company Drummond, including Garry N. Drummond, with President Danilo Medina.
