The British press is talking about Paul Cairns, serving 10 years for trying to smuggle cocaine from the Dominican Republic, who has fathered a daughter with a local woman whilst in jail.
An insider said: “Since conjugal visits are allowed, Cairns got to know a local girl while inside and she fell pregnant”.
Dominican police arrested Cairns and fellow Briton Dan Squires at Punta Cana airport in July 2009 as they tried to board a flight to Manchester.
National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) officers found 30 packages of cocaine, disguised to look like a local brand of ground coffee, in their luggage.
