A 77-year old German woman was caught at Las Americas International Airport (SDQ) yesterday, Monday 8 April in possession of two bars of white powder suspected of being cocaine, the National Drug Agency (DNCD) reported. She was planning to take an Air France flight to Paris. Her name was released as Flor Gebfeuerer Therese. A drug-enforcement dog at the airport detected the substance. DNCD spokesman Roberto Lebron said that the powder was sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (INACIF) for tests and would later be incinerated.
He said the woman was subjected to a body X-ray but no other unusual items were found. She will be sent to justice for possible violation of Law 50-88.
