Navy recovers aircraft from the sea

After nearly eight hours of intensive work, the Salvage and Rescue Unit of the Dominican Navy recovered the wreckage of the T-35 Pillan 2009 aircraft that crashed into the sea on Sunday 7 April, killing its two young pilots. According to Listin Diario, Navy captain Benny Batista Castillo, commander of the Admiral Didiez Burgos, PA-301, (according to Wikipedia this is a 180′ Buoy Tender Cutter of the Cactus class and named the Admiral Juan Alejo Acosta) directed the salvage operation of the wreckage of the aircraft that crashed during the second Caribbean Air Show. According to Diario Libre, the preliminary investigation into the cause of the accident points to pilot error.
