President Medina sends condolences to President Obama

President Danilo Medina has sent a letter of condolence to United States President Barack Obama. In the name of the Dominican people, he mourns the victims of the Boston Marathon tragedy on Monday, 15 April when three people were killed and more than 100 were injured after two bombs exploded at the finish line of the race.

He expressed his solidarity with the government and people of the United States and especially the families of the victims and those directly and indirectly affected by what he described as “an appalling tragedy.”

He went on to say that the event had caused him great pain and asked God never to allow acts like this happen again, and for everyone in the world to live in safety, respect and peace.
