A rainy day, a curve and speed. The sum total of these elements cost the lives of a Dominican family and its five members, who died in a huge accident on Sunday afternoon, (early morning in the Dominican Republic) on a national highway in the province of Cuenca in central Spain. At the wheel was Lorenzo Felix, 28 and originally from Salinas, Barahona, and his wife Eula Miguelina Rosario Gelabert, 26, and from Nagua, in the province of Maria Trinidad Sanchez. Their daughters Lorena, eight and Sara, four; and Eula’s younger brother Rafael, 11 years old, were with them in the car. According to reports published in the Spanish media, the vehicle – a BMW – was traveling faster than the 50 kilometers per hour speed limit posted for that section of Kilometer 151 of Highway N-301 (Madrid-Cartagena), at El Pedernoso.
