The Police have arrested a man who is said to have admitted responsibility for the murders of a lawyer from Bani, Odalis Lara and Narciso Radhames Valdez Santos (Palillo) whose burned bodies were found in a vehicle at kilometer 22 on the Azua-Barahona road.
The arrested man is Eulogio Feliz Castillo (El Gordo), 35, who, according to the police said he committed the crime due to an unpaid drug debt of RD$1,500,000 for five kilos of cocaine.
He said that he had only received RD$200,000 of the money owed to him, and had given another 10 kilos of cocaine to Lara, who promised that he would pay him the rest of the money. When this did not happen, Feliz shot the two men dead and disposed of the weapon by throwing it into the sea near Boca Chica.
Feliz Castillo reportedly said that he had planned the murder together with Angel Jose Garcia Perez (Pajarito or Tongolo), who allegedly contacted Lara and Valdez Santos and took them to the place where their bodies were later found. Garcia Perez has also been arrested and is currently on remand in jail.
