Drug agents at the Punta Cana International Airport arrested a Dominican woman yesterday, Monday 20 May. Angela Yveris German Genao was planning to board a flight to Moscow with 600 grams of cocaine hidden in her brassiere, reported National Drug Control Agency (DNCD) spokesman Roberto Lebron. The 39-year old woman was arrested for investigations by the Higuey judiciary. She was booked on Transaero flight 554 bound for Moscow.
She was tested for ingestion of drugs, but none were found. The drugs will be taken to the forensic lab in Santo Domingo for final investigation. Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo says that the department is appealing for information in order to establish who hired the woman to operate as a mule.
