Four die in shootouts

Two men, a woman and an 11-year old girl were killed in two separate incidents over the weekend of 25 and 26 May outside a bar and a colmado in the La Zurza and Guachupita areas of the capital, and another four people were injured.

According to the Police, one incident occurred outside El Cri Cric bar on Los Martires Avenue, and the victims were Lewin Tavares Nunez (Tavarito) aged 25, Geuri Santos Flores, 24, and Nairobi Michel Lantigua, age 11. Luz Esther Garcia, 18, was also injured

They said that they were all shot while drinking outside the bar and two men identified only as “Mochila” and “Cache” opened fire for as yet unknown reasons and then fled the scene.

A similar incident took place in the “Los Tres Hermanos” colmado on Francisco del Rosario Sanchez street in Guachupita, where Isabel Urena Rojas, aged 4, died and Junior Aquino Santana, 18, Jose Augusto Castillo, 34, Juan Sosa de la Cruz, 24, and Marcial Santiago were all injured.

In this instance the shooters were known as Morao, Natula, Pilito, Lilo, La Cigua and Guandulito, again for unknown motives. They shot from three moving motorcycles and fled.
