The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) says that the rains will continue all week, due to a weather front over the Central Caribbean.
Forecasters say that the rain will start early this morning, Tuesday 28 May and will be accompanied by storms, and the areas most affected will be the east, north east, south west and center of the country.
In addition an alert is still in place for possible flooding of rivers and streams, and mudslides for the provinces of San Cristobal (including Villa Altagracia), Monsenor Nouel (Bonao) and Monte Plata, and flooding in greater Santo Domingo.
