The Minister of the Armed Forces, Admiral Sigfrido Pared Perez, said yesterday, Tuesday 29 May the military would be patrolling the streets along with the National Police. Pared Perez said that this action is aimed at putting an end to the crime wave unleashed over the past few days. He said that the increase in patrols throughout the country, in coordination with the Police, would contribute to reducing crime.
Speaking at a ceremony celebrating the 138 anniversary of the founding of the Cesar De Windt Levandier Naval Academy, Admiral Pared Perez said that the Armed Forces were ready to help the Police in their fight against crime nationwide. He said that the patrols would be sent to the most strategic locations of the capital and the main provinces.
