626 new flights cleared for summer

The Civil Aviation Board has announced that 626 flights were approved last week. This includes 28 additional regular frequencies by Delta Air Lines and 598 weekly charter flights. The flights commence 1 June.

Delta Air Lines added seven weekly flights on the New York/Santo Domingo route. Another seven are being added for the New York/Punta Cana route and 14 for the New York/Santiago route. The flights double the company’s current services. Delta is filling in the void left by American Airlines, which cancelled several flights to the United States this spring.

The charter flights will fly to the Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, La Romana and Samana airports from June to August.
