Fete de la Musique in Santo Domingo

The Fete de la Musique will take place in Santo Domingo on Saturday, 22 June bringing live music to 10 public spaces, most located in the Colonial City. There will be 60 live concerts in a single day.

The Alliance Francaise is responsible for the organization of the global event in the Dominican Republic. The event brings together professional and amateur artists for an evening of voluntary and spontaneous performances in public spaces. The event is held every year on the Saturday closest to 21 June, the beginning of summer.

Stages will be set up in parks, mainly in the Colonial City, for the spontaneous music performances that are backed by good sound equipment. This year, more than 300 musicians are expected to participate.

There will be live events at Columbus Park, Calle El Conde, Parque Duarte, Centro Cultural de Espana, Centro Cultura BanReservas, Casa Olivier, Centro Culutral de las Telecomunicaciones, Nopal, Parque Frey Bartolome de las Casas and Plaza Espana.

For the grand finale, the exceptional Kan-nida from Guadeloupe will be playing at the Plaza Espana as of 10:40pm.

The sponsors for the event include the Ministry of Tourism, the Santo Domingo City government and the Santo Domingo Tourism Cluster.
