Real estate tourism in Jarabacoa

Over the last decade Jarabacoa in La Vega province has seen major development in the area of real estate tourism, which has put US$90 million a year into circulation for the sale, lease or construction of villas, hotels or apartments. According to Hoy reporter Yamira Taveras, the main attraction is the natural beauty of the town located over 500 meters above sea level, with cool temperatures, beautiful forests and rivers and the friendly nature of its residents. Anna Fernandez, vice-president of the local real estate association, says that the community now has plenty of rooms for visitors and the option of villas for rent is especially attractive for families. She says: “Everyone wants to come to Jarabacoa and now they can.”
