The executive director of the National Student Welfare Institute (INABIE), Rene Jaquez Gil, says that more than RD$500 million is still owed to bakeries that supplied bread to the School Meals Program.
He said that INABIE pays 137 suppliers every 30 days, following receipt of the invoices.
Jaquez Gil added that INABIE has everything ready to issue a tender on Wednesday 19 June for 1,364,234 meals amongst 306 businesses to be delivered to 3,873 schools nationwide.
He said that the tenders would be received at various points around the country.
