Amarante Baret praises Danilo

The president of the Dominican Telecommunications Institute (Indotel), Carlos Amarante Baret, has called on the population to support President Danilo Medina in the search for a solution to the “eternal electricity problems,” where the contracts he said are “letters of marque” supported by powerful interest groups. “After Barrick we have to take on the electricity problem, closing ranks behind President Medina in this new battle for economic and social progress,” he stated yesterday, Tuesday 18 June in a speech entitled “Danilo, a year after the victory.”

During the speech, Amarante Baret stated that Medina is carrying out a “government that is ethical, transparent and close to the people,” stressing the emphasis that the administration has given to education, the countryside and job creation through the small business sector during this first year in office. “Danilo, with his new style of government, close to the people, can listen directly from the citizens, without having to go through the filter of us bureaucrats, the complaints, the demands and the lack of things,” he said.
