Francisco Javier, aged 3, has become victim number 45 this year in child death accidents. He was killed when his uncle was trying to open an oxygen tank in his workshop. The valve flew off and hit the child in the face. His uncle said he did not know the child was in the workshop.
In June alone, 13 children died unnatural deaths, the second highest month after March when there were 16. The causes of death in June were that five died from blunt force trauma, four drowned, three were suffocated and a nine-month old baby was electrocuted.
