Rain will continue today, Monday 8 July and there is a tropical wave approaching the country. It is now Tropical Storm Chantal as it approaches the Caribbean Basin. Some tracking indicates that the storm will pass close to the island of Hispaniola. There will be increased rains over the northeast, southeast and along the border with Haiti. Reliable sources indicate that by Wednesday, 10 July some of the effects of the storm will be felt along the eastern and southern coasts of the Dominican Republic. Stay alert for local advisories.
