DR renewable energy most advanced in region

The president of the National Energy Commission (CNE), Enrique Ramirez said that the Dominican Republic is the country with the most advanced renewable energy in the Caribbean region, as reported in El Nuevo Diario. He noted the creation of the wind farm in Pedernales that produces 85 megawatts as an example. He said that apart from the industries, this wind farm could supply all the energy needed in the South. He went on to mention the 30 megawatts being installed in Bani, and the plans for similar installations in Montecristi and Puerto Plata. He noted that President Medina wants to have 300 megawatts of renewable energy installed by the end of his administration. Ramirez issued these statements as he took part in the Encuentro Extra program on Color Vision, hosted by Christian Jimenez.
