At the weekly press conference held at the Presidential Palace, the director for the Special Fund for Agricultural Development (Feda), Antonio Lopez announced that President Danilo has made promises of 61 projects during his unannounced visits nationwide. Of the projects, so far 43 have been funded already at annual interest rates of 5%. In total, the government has handed over RD$216 million and promised another RD$662 million. The government is providing the funds via farm and cooperative organizations in partial payments. Lopez said that last week, they had handed over RD$45 million to organizations in San Cristobal province alone.
