The United States immigration authorities have deported 63 Dominicans who have completed their sentences in US jails, accused of drug dealing, robbery, bank fraud and other federal crimes bringing the total this year to 1,536.
They arrived at the Las Americas airport yesterday, Wednesday 17 July in an airplane chartered by the US authorities, where they were met by a large security presence, from where they were taken to the Migration department for processing.
Deportees who have no outstanding arrest warrants in the Dominican Republic dating back to before they left the country will be handed over to their families.
