The Plenary of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) decided yesterday, Tuesday 23 July to deliver a copy of the certified membership documents of the PRD National Executive Committee (CEN) to a group of 188 leading PRD members, followers of Hipolito Mejia, but with no certainty that they appear on the lists as party members. Regarding Court Order 90-2013, delivered by the plaintiffs on Friday 19 July, the members of the JCE stated that the certification would be issued for the documents of 4 March 2012, registered on 18 March 2012. Nonetheless, they pointed out that this certification would not be issued on the terms required since the JCE does not have the attributes needed to find out if the members of the group are listed as members or not of the CEN. “(…) since the fact of establishing who is or who is not a member of an organism or section of a party escapes the area of the competence” of the JCE.
