According to the National Meteorological Office (Onamet), rainfall is forecast for today, Wednesday 24 July as a result of a tropical wave that is currently moving west out of Haiti. The predominant east-southeast winds will provide the humidity and thunderstorms of short duration are expected in the northeast, southeast and over the Central Mountains. Onamet is also keeping an eye on a low-pressure wave to the south of the Cape Verde Islands and which is moving westwards at 16 kilometers per hour. According to the National Hurricane Center, there is a good chance that this system will develop into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours.
