A year in jail for Puerto Plata pimps

A court in Puerto Plata headed by Judge Rafael Osiris Reyes Vega has imposed one year of remand in jail against two people accused of sexual exploitation of 32 women in Passions bar, in Sosua.

They are German national Peter Jensen and a Dominican woman, Mariela Rodriguez Rodriguez, alias Lupe.

The accused were arrested and appeared in court following an investigation by the Specialized Prosecution Service against Illegal Traffic of Migrants and People, and the Puerta Plata Public Prosecution Service led by Judges Jonathan Baro Gutierrez and Alba Nunez Pichardo, respectively.

Also involved were Colonel Jose Hernandez Gutierrez, commander of the Department of Migration Control and Investigations against Illegal Traffic of Migrants and People from the National Police.

During a raid at Passions, several computers and cameras were discovered as well as women’s uniforms, bill and receipts that supposedly recorded the arrivals and departures of women with their clients.
